Academic Challenges in 2022

 Personally, I think that, in the career, they should enhance the digital area of art, within what is illustration and what it entails to make a record of work, programs for photo/video editing.

 I would expand the content seen in the analog photography workshop, to be able to learn other methods of development, in addition to black and white. It is necessary to open more places or another silkscreen printing course, since it is in high demand and many of us were left out of the course, despite having the willingness and interest to learn the technique.

The academic load is high, it takes a lot of time to plan, think and carry out a work; but we are in a system that asks us to do and do, sometimes teachers tell us that they take up to 3 months in a work, but we are required to deliver one in 2 weeks, I think and I think it is not consistent, it is not respected or given the time for creative work and that leads us to do work by obligation in most cases and not by dedication and taste; the amount of theoretical branches is high throughout the career, they are very necessary, but they are distributed in a way that makes us very heavy the semester at least in 3rd year; I also think that in 4 years is not achieved correctly apply all knowledge, lack more time to experiment, and thus, to find a way to work, as we are in a mood to learn the basics and put that into practice in a single job.

The infrastructure of the headquarters has advantages and disadvantages, the building is spacious, we have plenty of space to work in the workshops and courtyards, but the structural conditions of the building are not optimal, the corridors and rooms are rained due to the poor condition of the roofs and gutters, some electrical installations are somewhat deteriorated, the equipment at the university are old and we do not have many.

The use of technology in the career is little, it is limited to use Photoshop and video editing programs, in addition to the use of digital camera, but most teachers are mostly older, so they are not so familiar with the devices, therefore they avoid it or do not work so much in their courses; that happens a lot in the career, that teachers are very pigeonholed in some styles and are limited to teach other things or other ways of doing, also some being of advanced age, they were left behind with some references and current techniques.
